Wicker Park Modern Home

Chicago, IL
7,000 SQ FT

Sitting on a double lot in the heart of wicker park, the finishes in this new construction home let the architectural details take center stage.  The material palette repeats throughout, creating a distinctive sense of serenity.  Despite the strong architectural lines, the calming sense of nature is present in the materials:  The warm walnut millwork provides an inviting backdrop extending through all four floors of the home.  The Living Room features a custom designed area rug reminiscent of flowing water, the Loft is home to a set of river stone ottomans made of felt.  The Dining table was a custom design built around a single slab of oxidized oak, and the teak cladding in the Primary Bathroom creates the refuge of a private sauna.  The planning and execution of this interior was a truly rewarding exercise in creative restraint.
